Zephaniah 3:14-16
Paraphrase
God-given repentance leads to joyful fellowship with God. God is instructing the repentant to rejoice, but God is already rejoicing. He is delighting in the repentant, He is quieting His people with His love, and He is singing over them with rejoicing. These people are the meek, humble, and trusting (3:12). These are the people who have been purified, called on the Name of the Lord, and have received forgiveness of sins. God is speaking to repentant Jerusalem.
What do I Learn about God?
GOD LOVES REPENTANCE!!! GOD LOVES MEEKNESS AND HUMILITY; GOD LOVES HIS PEOPLE TRUSTING IN HIM!!!
What do I Learn about Me?
My God has taken away my punishment – my God is with me. My God has saved me. My God takes great delight in me. Who shall I fear? What shall harm me? Why should I ever grow discouraged or let my hands go limp?
How can I Live according to this Passage?
Worship God! Sing, shout aloud, be glad, and rejoice with all my heart. This should be my life demeanor. This should be my daily attitude. Why do I live in the doldrums and self-defeat? Because I am not practicing meekness, humility and trust in the Lord.
