Esaie & Natacha Etienne Update

Wes Holland on November 13, 2009

 Esaie & Natacha Etienne have sent us a ministry update.  You can read their update below.

Dear Friends and Partners in Christ;

It is a privilege for us today to report to you from the land of Haiti where the Lord has placed us to preach t

he gospel of the Kingdom and work to strengthen His Church. Our family is doing fine by the grace of our father. The kids are enjoying their school in Port-au-prince, and my wife continues to teach at Quisqueya Christian School also, but every weekend we go to Gonaives for ministry.

As you know we have two church plants in Gonaives, one of them is an affiliated one that is located in a village outside of the city, and they meet every Sunday with 50 to 60 people. The One in the city started on October 19th 2008 this is why we just celebrated our first anniversary last month. We will attach all the pictures for you to this update.

I was out of the country last week because I had to participate in a leadership conference in Bogota, Colombia. This conference was organized by Mission to the world. There were about 60 men fro

m South America, Central America the Caribbean and the US that came to be part of this conference. It was a time of learning from each other’s ministry. The focus was on preaching biblically based, Christ centered, theo centric and contextualized messages. It was a time of refreshment for me.

As we are moving into a new phase in our ministry in Gonaives, we have a certain area of focus that we would like you to pray for us. PLEASE PRAY FOR:

  • Our leadership development ministry which is so crucial for the future of the Reformed Churches in Haiti.
  • We need more committed leaders to assume with us the responsibilities of the movement that we want to create.
  • The safety of our travels every weekend to Gonaives.
  • Our discipleship ministry to the kids, the youth and the adults converts in the two churches.
  • The works that we have to do with the other two Reformed ministries in Haiti to establish a functional Presbytery in order to connect all of our churches together for a better representation of the Reformed faith in the land of Haiti.
  • We have an opportunity to teach a class on evangelism to a group of very legalistic Pentecostal Christians in Port-au-prince. Please for this to go well as we lay before them the Gospel of the Kingdom.
  • We need to raise about $ 160,000.00 to purchase a property that includes a building and land for a ministry center in Gonaives. This is very important for the development of our ministry.
